Southern Cross University, founded in 1994, is a Public university with advanced educational experience and outstanding reputation for student support. According to the data in the 2021 Guide to Excellent Universities, Southern Cross University’s overall student support and social justice have both received a 5-star rating, which is the third consecutive year that Southern Cross University has won this honor. Southern Cross University also has world-class scientific research level. In the latest Australian excellent research report, 14 fields have been rated far higher than the world level.
At present, Southern Cross University has three campuses, which are located in Lismore, City of Gold Coast and Coffs Harbour on the east coast of Australia. Today we will focus on taking a look at the Golden Coast campus where ALTOP undertakes the curtain wall project.
The curtain wall project of Building C, the new teaching building in the Golden Coast Campus of Southern Cross University, was constructed by ALTOP. Building C is the third building built by Southern Cross University in the Golden Coast Campus, with a total investment of 43 million Australian dollars. It was jointly funded by the Federal Education Investment Fund (EIF) and Southern Cross University, and was constructed by ADCO Constructions.

Building C is a 6-story building surrounded by sea and land landscapes, magnificent and magnificent. It is the location of SCU College and the School of Law and Justice, equipped with a brand new library, technologically rich teaching space, and coffee shop. One of the most impressive is a 560 seat lecture hall, which has become a valuable community asset on the southern Gold Coast.
The design inspiration of Building C is derived from the natural beauty of the Gold Coast, using the color and materials of the “beach cottage”. The entire exterior facade of the building is made by ALTOP, consisting of glass curtain walls and multiple layers of sunshade louvers, effectively reducing solar radiation and thereby reducing the need for cooling, adhering to the concept of sustainable development.
At present, Building C has ushered in four graduation ceremonies, and 445 graduates of Southern Cross University have obtained their diplomas. With the help of the new teaching building Building C, the Golden Coast Campus of Southern Cross University will bring more innovative and practical courses to more students, help their growth and contribute to future research achievements!
